As I’m walking around my room, trying to find the right things to say, I found myself stuck again around this perplex yet simple question… Is love really enough? I asked myself…
Growing up in a single family home, watching my parents’s love grow days after days , I always wondered what it would be like to be loved the way I have seen them love each other!
What is love? well, if you ask me, it’s only best I quote one of my favorite bible quotes:
[1 Co.13:4-7] ”Love is patient, Love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud”…
You’re probably asking yourself where this is going, but I promise you, it gets better at the end. Which reminds me of today’s story. So, I met this young girl called Maritza on my trip to London. She is a very smart, outgoing, full of life person, yet lost! As I’m getting out my hotel room, I bumped into her rushing to the elevator with her Coach Handbag and her purple carry-on..
”Very strange” I whispered . Because check out doesn’t start until 11h am. She saw me walking towards to the elevator and politely said “are you waiting on the elevator”? . “Yes” I nodded.
She looked like she was crying. Her face was red, and her eyes were puffy. I couldn’t resist it. I had to ask her. I had to make sure she was okay; so I asked her : “Are you okay“
She looked at me and started her story :
My name is Maritza. I’m so sorry, but I have no one to talk to. I recently moved from Cuba to London. I left everything behind… and for what? For love. … this is, where it gets better…
Maritza had just lost her dad due to a car accident when she met her husband, Oscar during her move to London.” The first few years were amazing”, she said. Oscar was everything she ever wanted until the day he started losing interest in her. Maritza was so comfortable in her relationship that she had done lost herself. She became dependent on Him and got stuck in the process. This is where, I asked her the famous question.
”Do You Think Love Is Enough, Maritza?”
she glanced at me , said nothing and started crying….[ To be Continued]
Now, back to you, my dear readers! Would you leave everything behind for love? and do you think that love is enough for Maritza? Find out about what happened next Monday!
